Despite having established approximately 115 private universities since independence, only a few specialize in STEM, and the interest in STEM fields among students is notably declining. In response to these challenges, the Sheikh Hasina University of Science and Technology (Proposed new name Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology) was founded in 2021 by Dr. H. B. M. Iqbal, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist. MUST aims to reverse the current trends by establishing a world-class STEM-focused university that is accessible to marginalized communities, particularly in the wetlands of Bangladesh.

This institution is built with unconditional support of resource, stands as a testament to shared commitment to excellence in education, research and societal transformation. I am dedicated to creating an atmosphere where students are empowered to achieve their dream. Where research and innovation are celebrated and where learning knows no bounds.
