Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the Sheikh Hasina University of Science and Technology (SHUST). It is the first private university in Bangladesh named after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with a permanent campus to make a revolution in the field of science and technology. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of SHUST has been started with a vision to produce highly skilled IT professionals who will pursue successful careers in the competitive local and global market.
We have designed our courses to increase the employability of our students in the public, corporate, entrepreneurial, and non-profit sectors anywhere in the world through well-equipped state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratory facilities for teaching and research. We have (i) Hardware lab, (ii) Programing, Software Development & Quality Control lab, (iii) Networking Lab, (IV) AI & Machine Lab and (V) Computer Graphics & Animation Lab with latest configuration computers and equipment, in addition enriched Chemistry Lab, Physics Lab, Electrical Circuits Lab, Electronics Lab and Electrical Machine Lab with the latest equipment to provide opportunities for students to work on real-life problems provided by the IT and Software industry.
Our CSE at SHUST is a research-oriented, student-centered Department and it has an Outcome Based Education (OBE) Curriculum that will direct the students to explore various specialized research areas such as Machine Learning, Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Network Security, Image Processing, Telemedicine and Intelligent Systems, Robotics, Big Data, Game Development, and so on.
CSE Department is committed to providing opportunities for students to enhance their experiences and personal development through extracurricular activities arranged by student clubs and forums such as participating in and organizing Programming Contest, Cyber Gaming Contest, Poster Presentation Competition, Idea Generation Competition, Mobile Games and Apps Development Competition, Photography Contest etc., that promote the building of a variety of both discipline-specific skills but also lifelong transferable skills such as enterprise, collaboration, and communication skills.
